I have a 2007 F8 Yamaha tiller model and was thinking it would be nice if I had a way of disconnecting throttle cables from tiller arm and running 2 cables up to the helm where I steer from. That way I can throttle up or down when needed without going back to the tiller every time. I'm not worried about controlling the shift lever, just throttle. Has anyone built a lever or throttle control of some kind to do this? Even if I just ran the cables up under the gunnel and mounted them to some starboard with the ends sticking out, pull on for throttle up, pull other for throttle down. Would that work?
Thanks for any advice.
