Is mono 0.60 OK for downrigger leader, and how do I best connect it?

I tried it once and hated it it. Such a waste of time and effort and I've never had a failure with the Albright knot anyway. If trimmed properly, you don't feel a thing through the guides either.

I can tie an Albright successfully while on the boat, but not an FG. In theory you shouldn't need to tie either while out in the field, but stuff happens.

yah it’s a pain for sure. tying them on a boat is not fun i’ll admit that freely; but i love how sleek it is going thru the guides
