How to pull prawn traps ?

It works great. The traps with the metal ring (commercial style) have no problems. The flimsy sport traps get beat up doing it this way. I find it works better if you throw a 10 pound cannonball on as an anchor, as the extra weigh helps with resistance on the scotchman.

YES IT DOES PROVIDE ENOUGH RESISTANCE MY BUDDY USE TO DO IT ALL THE TIME WITH SUCCESS CHERRS MT. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS.

They do pull without the weight - I just find they pull better with less dragging of the Scotchman. You get a more vertical ascent. I also find I catch more prawns with the cannonball (less movement of the traps).

attach a bucket behind your scotman for drag and plug to deep water. when the scotman submerges the traps are up. works great if there is not too many traps around
