I have pulsing water, rattling pipes and low pressure. Just started the other day. Could this be from a bad pressure valve?

I'll see if I can bump this for ya? test

Didn't work, Hopefully they figure out this board problem

Is this occurring when you use only one particular faucet?
If so, the problem is a loose washer in the faucet.

The first 2 symptoms are indicative of a faulty pressure reducing valve usually found where
the water main enters the house.
If the valve fails you can get too much pressure in the system causing water hammer
rattling pipes and eventually leaking faucets.
The low pressure in the system is puzzling as usually high pressure is the result of a defective PRV.

faulty valve stem, loose washer, toilet valve, failed solenoid valve in dishwasher or clothes washer, failed prv (pressure reg valve), partially plugged prv, most models have a stainless screen on the inlet side.
,, or air lock can also cause this... does one fixture alone set it off? does opening another valve in the house stop it? yes, i get alot of calls for this,, it can be a pain in the arse to find... my moms place (on well) creates an air lock,, every couple months i have to shut down the main, drain the house at the lowest point and then refill the system slowly with all the faucets open, closing them starting at the lowest. let us know how we can fix it over the interweb!!! cuz travel time and ferry costs still would not be worth a visit from me.

Every tap would bring on the pulsing and crazy pipe shaking. Bought a pressure tester found system to be at 82 pounds which is high. Tried adjusting the PRV and the pressure went up to 85 pounds and would not come back down either way I turned the bolt, but more I turned it in (right) the shaking and pulsing went away. Got a new PRV today and got it in. Problem solved :)

Turns out I had a boiler PRV which shouldn't of ever been used. Interesting that my house was built and owned by a building inspector for the valley. This is the 5th weird thing I've come across in 7-8 years.

Thanks for the great replies.
