Halibut????

Recently moved to Nanaimo are and wondering if there is some decent halibut fishing around. I usually go up to Hardy but would love to find something closer. I am in Nanoose

Years ago we used to catch the odd halibut commercially trolling on the top end of hornby island. Ajax bank? comox bar?
Might try there?

If you trailer and want hali then head west, Port Alberni is close. There are hali here and myself and Bushy are the the only guys I know to catch one(35 and 65lb respectively). We tell everyone it was ballenas but it was area 14.How big is your boat?
