And second, answer me this. I get home yesterday to listen to a phone message from Island Outfitters inviting me to early bird ticket sales for the 17th Annual Just For The Halibut Derby. I'm just a little bit confused. Its obvious that the derby is going to happen but under what conditions? Is this an animal farm situation where we will be exempt from the slot limits for the duration of the derby, or what? Maybe a hidden weight grand prize or one for those who can bring in a hali thats closest to 60 lbs?

No, it was explained in another thread
1st prize to biggest legal fish, 2nd to next biggest and so on.
also there will be C.O's present to arrest anyone possessing any Halibut over 126cm

I haven't read all the forum rules but if suggestions of breaking the law is one of them why doesn't this site crack down on that? If it is not a rule of this forum then IMHO it should be. If suggestions of breaking the law is not a worry to this site and their image then I guess that is their directive and liability.

who broke the law? what is the law? the laws were already broken by the dfo!!!! we just sign a contract every year to follow rules, not laws.
