Halibut 2013 closing ?

I did a search through DFO fisheries notices and can't find anything new.
Therefore would assume that Halibut will close as of Dec 31 until further notice.

I believe so but don't feel rushed to go top off your 6 fish. If it opens in February or march you'll have to use the same licence so it might be smart to save a slot of two for early season.

I personally can't help you on the Ladysmith area.....but sure would like to see a halibut landed in a Kayak!! That would be a challenge to say the least!

That was frikkin' AWESOME! Never thought it'd be possible in a yak with a hali that big. Love how it was towing him
around for a while. Too cool!

That was indeed awesome. Good thing he was not a Canadian Yak angler as he would have had to work out how to measure and gently release this possible once in a life time Yak Butt for being oversize, under our trial/temporary regulation, so it would be free to hook up to a commercial bottom long line and get itself exported. Sorry, tried to fight it, just could not resist.

Happy New Years from Ucluelet!! Has anyone heard of an amended closure/continued opening? Can't seem to get any info on our side.
