hali fishing

All be in bamfield on monday and i have never tryed halibut fishing. I want to know if there is anywere were you dont have to go to far to catch them.

Whats a good line and how strong should it be??

Try 5 Mile Bank for in close around Bamfield.

Just follow the boats south bound from Cape Beal. When I was in Bamfield a last week it was hit and miss for hali's. If the hali fishing stinks the salmon action is alway hot out at 5 Mile Bank.

I like 65-80lb braided line for hali's. P-line Spectra or Power Pro are good choices
