Well it's not really halibut but sturgeon on the Columbia. Think it covers all the basic principles though, and I really dig his deck-hands.

One question for the pro's here on this forum: the guy says an anchor line ratio of 4 to 1 to the depth you are fishing. So... is he saying that fishing in 200/ft of water requires 800/ft of rope? Seems a tad much to me. What's the bare-minimum you guys would work with on the South Island for Hali's?
