Gold river fly fishing

Hi All, we're heading to Gold River on Vancouver Island the end of July 2025. I was going to take the fly rod and have a go in some of the local rivers for migratory fish... .any suggestions where to start have a go? Thanks!

Campbell River on the way. Should be some pinks but early enough that it won't be a gong show. Unfortunately most of VI rivers don't hold many resident fish. Maybe Summer Run Steelhead in the Heber but not sure of the regs.

Definitely book an ocean charter out of Moucha bay. Trip of a lifetime for a guy from the UK.

Moucha Bay day trip looks amazing! I've sent them an email to enquire so I'm sure I'll get something set up. It's funny how you talk about a gong show.... A busy river for me in the u.k is bumping into another angler while fishing. it's wonderfully peaceful fishing here but unfortunately not many fish now!
