Glow Dip

I picked up a spray can of Plasti Dip from Canadian Tire tonight and will give it a try this weekend. $24 a can and it comes in yellow red blue black white and some smokey colour.

You people are hosed. Is on Amazon.ca at 5X the price

everything in canada is 5x more expensive lol. (well maybe not quite but close....hehe)

plasti dip in a spray can, interesting.

Do what I did, listed my 15lbers (not coated) on CL for $28, I sold them quick, then for a few dollars extra bought coated ones from below on CL, a lot less bother, smell, time etc

Now that's priceless.....

Take a can of spray for $24 and find out if infact you and make it as thick and durable as a dipped ball. You'll put the whole can on before you ever even come close to a properly dipped ball.

Good Luck :)

Against most advice from this thread I decided to go ahead and try this paint on one of my weights. Was a good decision as it gave me a project that my daughter enjoyed helping with (building the frame to suspend the weights), and she actually got to paint one of her banana weights. The end result is as expected and the layer of paint is very thin. I put on seven coats and it feels like I used up half the can. Atleast I'm not touching lead anymore but we'll see how long this lasts after a few trips. After the amount of joy my daughter got in helping me with something fishing related, I can easily say I've spent $24 in worse ways before.

There used to be a product on the market called "hammer dip". I have searched the net and nothing comes up. I remember home depot used to carry it though.

Sorry, but it's just a waste of money IMHO

Wouldn't be a waste of money if in fact handling raw lead is bad for you, which much evidence says it to be. Seeing that we can't predict whether or not our health will suffer from these interactions, I'd say it's a cheap precaution, especially if you do it yourself.
