G. Loomis GCX Mooching?

Wondering what others think of these rods for durability etc. I bought 2 of them as my first down rigger/mooching rods. They are nice but I have have various issues with them from pulling of eyelets with transition from mono to braid and them bending back (likely a bit of my fault for the knots). I broke one about half way up fighting a fish last year and sent it away for warranty. As it looks months I ended up getting a 3rd to have a spare. This year I have been out 3 times and sure enough fighting a salmon I heard a pop and the rod snapped in half right above the handle. Are these things that fragile as I am new to salmon fishing but have fly fished and spin casted for years and don't remember ever breaking a rod in half other.. Thinking of switching brands as by the time I get this one back from warranty I may be out of rods.

I’ve got 4 Loomis rods I’ve had 15 years I troll with. Flawless. Not your model…. but Loomis is a good brand in my opinion.

And they don't like to be high sticked, often happens when you get a fish close to the boat. Thats typically what takes out the high carbon mooching rods.
