I've worked with numerous boys from Newfoundland over the years and it's a mix bag of remarks as the the taste of seal. Most say it's a horrible thing to eat. They say when someone is cooking seal you can smell it throuout the whole village. Other say it's not bad with enough seasoning. They all agree it's very fishy,, more so than any fish lol more like week old fish guts. Worked with some of the boys from the north part of the island some real hillbilly boys if you would and it seems they are the ones more apt to liking it. I guess it was fresh meat other than fish or caribou on the table so they liked it. Personally,, I think they are better suited for boots or plain old target practice..
