Poll: Where Would You Settle Down IF You Were Retired And Just Wanted To Maximize Fishing Opportunities????

Pretty sick. I could see that selling quick, nice to be able to drive down to the dock.

Here’s the listing

Another one with a newer house and bigger lot, but not as nice a dock

I’m hearing the condition of the dock in any kind of real estate purchase these days is not a small issue.

Update on the Victoria market that touches on saltspring and North Saanich. The crash in other markets is spreading it’s not often realtors disclose tens of thousands in personal losses
This is what "improved housing affordability" actually looks like.

No brainer that condo's are coming down. They just keep building like there's no tomorrow.
The developers of some of these projects are going to get caught with their pants down .

Large multi unit projects take 3-5 years to permit and build. Still a few coming out of the pipeline from the hype years that got off the ground funded by deposits from foreign investors (possible money laundering) and short term rental businesses. Not many people actually want to live in the product they're delivering, 450-600 sq ft studio condos. Improved govt controls on those two predatory investment models will take a while to fully flow through the system, but we are seeing the effects now. You can't just legislate it away, but we do need to reinforce a culture of housing for families to live in, not just a magic ATM.

35 yrs old making first purchase. And they wonder why our young people are not having enough kids? They got sold out to money laundering bandits and the politicians just rubbed their hands with glee. What a mess and only way out is further price declines.

Campbell River . Fishing is good in town but you aren’t far from Gold River, Port Hardy, Port Alice/Winter Harbour etc.

Wanna hear a cool story? I have more money, adjusted for inflation, saved up for a downpayment than the purchase price of the house in the Fraser Valley that my dad bought at the same age as me, 20 years ago.

I’d much rather be putting that money back into the economy and local businesses.
