Fishing Buddy for Vancouver Island

Hi there,

I wanted to put it out there that I am looking for someone that would like a fishing buddy to help share the costs of this sport.

I have my own boat, tackle, etc but don't feel like operating it and transporting it all over the place (I live in Courtenay) since most of the time it is only me and my kids (which are young and cause more distractions than able to fish at this time).

If anyone wants a fishing partner I am willing to foot the gas costs, or portion of operating the boat and because I am centrally located, I am willing to travel regularly to anywhere on the island. I would prefer to find someone on the North Island or West Coast.

I am 39 and full figured but fun, easy going and am a tackle *****....since I have rubbermaids full of tackle and rods.

Let me know as this forum seems to be full of good natured and helpful people.

I should have also mentioned that I realize there are multiple costs with owning and running a boat. Therefore, I am willing to split all costs, etc that come with operating the boat during the season.

As I have been operating boats since I was a kid and am very experienced with fishing and boat handling, I am willing to help out on board as much as the skipper wants.

Thanks for all the support everyone.

I thought I would let everyone know that I am going to put the boat in at Port Hardy for at least a month....Aug 9 to Sept

So I may be looking for people if they want to go out fishing.

But, until then if anyone wants a "first mate" / fishing buddy on their boat anywhere on Vancouver Island for the long weekend just let me know and I can bring myself and gear, cash most importantly good beer, etc.

I mainly fish the West Coast (Bamfield area) but have been known to fish the North end of the island too.Starting next weekend I have 3 weeks off and intend to get a lot of fishing done.
