Fisheries Minister’s Comments on Skeena Sockeye

I'm just saying how can you know what she meant by that?? As there is EASILY more than one way to take that. But since there is obvious bias on the forum they take it the way to reinforce their views of her. And I'm not a fan of hers, she hasn't done very much at all for the fishery of BC...I'm just stating that quote does not mean she thinks the same freakin' fish will be coming back next year.

All I want for Christmas is a Fisheries Minister with defensible credientials who hails from the West Coast, understands the life cycle of Pacific Salmon and the importance of all our fisheries to British Columbia, its people and their economy!

Some hope of that, I don't think!! :( Gail Shea is just a mouthpiece for the Conservative Party. She's just a politician and all she knows about is politics, not fisheries and fish. It's the civil servants, the ones, non-elected who run things and make policy. Whatever party is in power they are still there, protected in their ivory towers with a job for life. Until that changes things will never change. Things were not any better under the Liberals. Fisheries ministers should just stick strictly to the scripts that are written for them because if they make any unscripted comments it just shows how ignorant they are regarding the real issues including the life cycle of Pacific salmon.

I think the last one we had that did was Anderson.
