First aid kit

We have a pretty heavy duty First Aid kit on the Boat. It is well stocked with good quality supplies and is supplemented with some extra stuff that I can't remember now.

It is like this one but they weren't as pricey three years ago. I really like tha it is organized by nature of medical issue.

I put 2 Narcan Kits in each of our cars, the boat's kit and at the house.

I want to swap them out for the spray kits because I want to minimize the risk of getting a needle stab from the patient as they revive

The free online training course is excellent.

So far I have only had to use one kit . It was behind our office building and I gave the kit to the affected indiviual's pal to inject.

The patient's friend had already used his kit so I gave him mine as my wife called 911 to report the incident

When Van Fire showed up the Captain asked me if I had given a dose to the patient and I replied" nope, I gave my kit to his pal to inject, I didn't want to get a needle stab as the patient woke up angry , She said, "good move, now you guys (my wife and I) can skidaddle." We did.

My wife and I just signed up for a First Aid/CPR/AED course through Life Preservers

We already have an AED at the house and we are going to put an AED on the boat .

I already called the manufacturer of the unti we have at home and it is certified to use on the deck of our Aluminum Boat even if it is awash with sea water.

I think its crazy that none of the kits include basic medication (asprin/benadryl). You need to make sure it doesn't expire, but you should be checking your kit anyway.

I keep a separate little Day kit that has the common stuff Over the Counter Meds, Bandaides, etc.

This kit has aspirin and 23 other items.
It is always best not to cheap out on safety gear.

Years ago I had TC come to my place to do an inspection on a charter boat. He almost went through everything and then he asked how many bandages are in your kit. I said 40. Are you sure there are 40, Yes it says it on the box and the box is still wrapped in plastic. He said OK let's see it.

The kit show came off a friends boat.
