Fall Fishing for Pinks

We live in the Kootenays and know little about fishing for any type of salmon especially fall pink salmon fishing which is what my husband has always talked about wanting to try. My hubby is on in years and I would like to bring him to an area to fish for pinks but have no idea where any of these places would be so he could just cast from shore. A guided trip is out and we have no boat and he needs a place where it is relatively easy to access on foot. The area could be anywhere between Hope and Mission. Any advice, hints, directions , etc. would be so appreciated.
If someone could tell me where some good spots would be I would be so grateful. Accommodations in that area would also be helpful.

There is a park with great access right under the Mission Bridge on the Abby side. Lots of room and I've done well there on pinks. You can park very close to where you fish. Check the regs as if I remember, below the bridge is tidal and requires a tidal license.

In mapleridge I used to fish for pinks off the "Haney Wharf" on river road (just before the Haney Bypass). ... the wharf is about 200 ft long, only problem is if you go on the usual working mans off times it can be quite crowded, ok rest of the time. Usual motels in town.

you can do very well for them around Hope, we spent labour day weekend 2 summers ago camping, there is a small picnic area right by the river, we just parked there and walked out to the rivers edge. The park is on Wardle Street,

It is a good spot but very snaggy so keep your lure or fly moving at all times!
