Egmont reports?

Hey guys, heading to the Backeddy Marina/Resort on July 2 for a few days. Anyone heard if the fishing has been any good this year? Prawning? I dont think there is much crabbing but hopefully someone tells me different.

prawning won't likely be too hot, because the commercial guys are just finished/finishing up. i've never fished too close to egmont, but i've had luck in the thunder bay area between saltery bay and scotch fir point.

I once caught a steelhead on a live herring at Scotch Fir. But that doesn't really help. My grandparents used to fish there a bit, but usually went to other way. I don't know if it's open, but if the tides are really small, there are great big lings near the Skoocumchuk (sp?). When I was a kid I had some excellent luck on that side of Agamemnon for bottom fish, but I can't really remember well enough to give you any directions. Good luck.
