I've got one with wire and one with braid. No discernible difference between either of them in relation to catch ratio, ease of use etc.

Yes got some off cuts from industrial plastics.

Of course there are lots of different personal opinions on this subject, but now that the I’ve caught some bigger summer springs, I can confirm that I will be sticking with dummy flashers in all but exceptional circumstances (or fishing a hoochie, I suppose, which I don’t often do). Such a better experience fighting fish.

In my opinion, it’s the best, easiest and cheapest way to improve the fishing experience. People spend huge money on high end rods and reels, when the best improvement of the fish fighting experience is to stop fighting the flasher!
