You could have bought the old brackets I had on my boat as I needed bigger ones now as i am moving them more forward the other day.when I met you hope it all works out for you.

Good luck Wolf

Thanks Wolf...too bad, I hadn't started looking at mounting them yet when I talked to you, assumed I'd just bolt them on where I wanted, didn't realize they wouldn't fit.

What year is your Trophy? I had a '92 and was able to fit pedistal mounts on the back corners, worked well for me.

Make sure you install either a plastic or stainless backing plate. It will save the bolts being ripped out when you snag the bottom. Plastic cutting board material from WalMart works great and is the cheapest. Just cut it to shape. Use the biggest washers that will fit to help further distribute the load.

Ya...they'll fit on the back corners, but I'd need to cut an access hole to install the nuts...hoping to avoid that.

O, I had little doors on either side of the splash well that I could access the bolts through. Must be a little different deck setup.

A few things to think about with those Scotty Gimbal mounts.

Are your backing plates strong enough?

How do you lock your downriggers, can anyone can unplug them and walk away with the works?

Do you have enough room in your cuddy to store the downriggers and the mounts?

I know a guy who sold his and went to custom made mounts because the Gimbal mounts were a PITA to store.

EDIT</u>-The 1025 as shown is sometime easier to mount than the ones made for the top of the gunnel.

thanks, all good points...had those right angle mounts on one of my boats...won't help me out with this one.

I used to sell Scotty mounts so have heard it all, there's always some wrinkle with boats and it costs money to iron out.
