anyone ever fished & camped at Dickson Lake outside Port Alberni? How is it?

i fished there once. only caught 1. it was a dolly varden

heard from a buddy that it's a "buggy" lake with nice fat rainbows.....we're gonna give it a try..

just read the regulations carfully for that lake.

Dickson can be an awesome lake. The best area is the far end where the Ash river flows in, much of the lake is quite shallow especially at the outflow. Check out a depth map and troll the deep holes along the shoals with a sink tip line and a damsel. I've heard that the odd summer steelie makes it over the falls into the lake, but I've never caught one. Better hold on tight just in case
