We have been in Waikiki for the last few weeks and staying two hotels down from the Military Hotel Fort Derussy, where all US military personal can stay for a discount. Good to see they get a cost break to get away with their family.
Over the last weeks we have met numerous veterans on the ocean front walkway, and had great conversations about their service and thanked them for their service. What military people go through (no matter what country they are from) is unimaginable.
Today there was a big parade and the last four remaining service men (100+ yrs. old) from Pearl Harbor attended. Lots of military in full dress every where in Honolulu and all flag at half mast.
I hope we all never forget “ No one wins a war”
