Dash Setup?

I need some suggestions guys.. I just installed a gps in my dash but can’t read it because the dash is on such an angle. I need to tilt my whole dash panel 30? Degrees so it’s perpendicular to my line of sight. I was going to build something out of black starboard or wood but thought it would look cheesy. What about 3D printing?

what about getting an alum one cut up and bent then tig welded? plus powder coat it

I put mine on the dash in my Seaport as well. I liked it beter as you don't have to look down to look at your chart.
Kind of like a heads up display.
You could get a new piece of that black plastic and then don't cut out for the plotter and just use mounting bracket so you can adjust angle

Using the right thickness HDPE board say 1/2“ thick it could be done successfully. But if I were to try it I wouldn’t do the whole dash I would just do a pocket the size of the plotter and only angle it. Run the edges of the pieces on your router to round them and soften the look. Put your stainless screws in from side, again just so it doesn’t look so robust. Using 1/2” would allow you enough meat in order to screw the system from the back side of the dash it would hold plenty.

I would give it a try, I’m not sure where your at but most building centre's now days carry HDPE in a variety of colours and many now sell half sheets as well which helps in the cost.

You could make a mold out of MDF with the angle you want to have the plotter at and have it vacuum molded with plastic sheet

I mounted mine on the dash as well, I think there is just too much angle to build a wedge bracket and have it look good and still be able to see it

I have mine mounted to the roof way easier to manage for me it works

Mine is on top of the dash as well. I can see it great from out back.

Finally got around to fixing my dash set-up. The light came on when I saw Hali Hunters recommendation above! Just mount it with the mount provided (with a new thicker dash plate of course). Seems to work and cost almost nothing! I was overthinking that one lol. I wanted it a bit lower so I can see over it (I’m a bit on the short side) plus it’s easier to reach and see from the deck
