Hello, all.
As a kid growing up near Clutesi, my dad and I would take lawn chairs and join the old farts watching the gong show.
Dad would have beers and to this day swears that was the best enbtertainment he has ever had!
That was when I learned how much faster it is to put those stern ponies to use and not trailer with the 'emergency recovery device'.
Second the beef about those who assume that because their boat is bigger then they know more???
My favourite to watch, as long as I am not in line waiting for one of these folks, is when someone is reversing their vehicle down the ramp with a painter in his hand, stomps the brake to pop the boat off, hopefully remembers to put it in park (saw a dude forget this once) and then gets pulled down into the water by his now fast moving and uncontrolled boat. I watched a guy do this with a minivan and a 23' Explorer in Ladysmith recently, there was NO WAY that he had the arm strength to restrain the boat.
It is just too bad that more people don't:
a) take a course or two
b) watch and learn from others (and sometimes listen)
Phew!!
Better to vent here than at the ramps...
Tight lines and safe boating everyone
Smiley.
