hey there, i will be camping in the qualicum bay area in mid aug and was wondering if there was any point in putting some crab traps down, and if so where would you put them?

I have never found anything but red rock crabs there. You would have to travel I would think to find Dungies. You have a good boat?

nah, i got a 12 ft aluminum with an electric trolling motor. i dont mind catchin red rock, but i dont know the area that well and i never see any floats out there

Them Red Rocks are everywhere. Just set a trap in 15-40 of water, or around any dock,pier or structure. There are millions of them buggers all over the ECVI.
