Has anybody been fishing Cowichan Lake the last month?. Anything worth reporting. Thanks

As of a week ago the report i got was slow. The fish were small so not sure where all the big ones went ?

its spawning season for rainbows they may be dropping out of the lake to spawn. Cutties have mostly finished already but may be waiting around for free eggs or staying for the smolt migration.

fished last tuesday for 4 hrs on riggers on the so called hot spots. It was pretty slow going. I find it hard to get info
on fishing this lake

Tomics fished without weight, 3 and 4 inch models.
What colours are good, little different than Rainbows would like?

Many years ago, we used to fish mouth of Shaw Creek - big flatfish and spoons - in Feb/ March.

Going to be at Heather for a few nights and will bring the 10’ Jon out.

I have fished around Shaw and Nixon in the fall but never in the warmer months.

Just asking if I should work the same areas/ depths and use large spoons & plugs like I would in the fall?

Same question, year later… Can anyone give some very basic info/pointers? Not looking for anyone’s hard earned secrets, but any general info would be great. Staying at Heather campsite mid July. Will have a 14’ tinny with riggers. That time of year, what’s the best bet?
