Comox valley gas war still happening!!

used to use marked gas. till my chainsaw quit mechanic said marked gas is a no no can build up residue and the engine will quit now use reg in everything.. a penny saved can cost a lot more down the road..

I'd really like to hear from a mechanic on this..... I would have to think in this day and age that fuel companies have found a way to mark fuel that doesn't harm the engines they're produced to be used in? If not, All the Large heavy equipment that cost millions of dollars is run on ****** fuel!!!!!!!!!????? I don't think so. I realize it's diesel, but must be marked in a similar/safe way? love to find out....

Funny how a thread can get hijacked. It's gone from Comox Valley gas price war to: Is using marked gas safe?

My truck is gas but the car is diesel. I agree with Kildonan, I wish Costco sold diesel as well. Because they don't, the price-fixing cartel can charge what they want. $127.9 or more. Even more reason to support Costco if you possibly can. I saw a truck with a large boat in tow at the Esso at the junction of Ryan and Anderton today filling up, paying $121.9. Either he doesn't know or doesn't care. 1/4 mile up the road at Costco he could have got gas at $104.9. Some people have more money than sense!!

Maybe the person filling up at Ryan road does not have a membership card? Not everyone can support Costco unless they have a membership card. But good on them for selling gas for much less.............BB

That's a fair point Bill. But I do think a Costco membership is well worth it. Especially now as they are always going to have the cheapest gas. I love the warehouse too!!

Think the Husky info is old-- went by the station at noon and it was $1.04.9

The marine will be several cents cheaper

It just keeps getting better!! Safeway, Chevron and the Coop on Lerwick $101.9. And I have a 5 cent/liter discount card for Safeway!! I didnt check, but I'll bet Superstore and Costco are the same.

Heads up fellas, Shell Comox was 125.9 at 5:30 tonite according to bcgasprices
