pod looks great nice work! What paint did you end up going with?

you should be just fine with a single divers mini centered on the back of the pod with it just above the V. Alternatively if you want to stick with 2 I usually mount them like the photo above about 2” up from the bottom and far enough off the transom to get your weld done. It’s hard to tell in your photo but it looked like the mounting surface was painted they need to make contact with the bare aluminum to work properly.

I epoxyxied it with interlux 2000, still need to bottom coat and top coat with brightside, than ultradeck on top. I had 2 plates welded on the back corners that weren't painted. You can see where the welds we're but they were in the way.

Painting is done, motors rigged, almost time to drop her in the water 🤙

Not sure what bottom paint you’re using, but if it’s anything like micron CSC which uses copper, you should have an area masked off around the engine brackets so there isn’t a reaction between the two. Hard to tell in the pic and maybe the type of paint you’re using this may not apply.

I did use micron csc but it's not behind the engine mounts, just painted up to the edges.

Looks good. I’m curious to see how those engines do vs the 200 4 strokes I have on my Commander.
I'll let you know soon enough! Did you toe your zukes in a bit? How are they working together? Did you find a sweet spot alignment wise for the commander hull?

Dam I wonder if I can remove a bit around the brackets 🤔
Sorry I wasn’t trying to rain on your parade there but I have read quite a bit about making sure you leave a border. I’m sure you had a look after I mentioned it. CSC will be decently easy to remove. I would mask off around the bracket leaving a 3/4” border of exposed paint and then use acetone or xylene to clean it off, remove the tape and you’ll have a nice line left, or take a whole inch off and then come back inside that with tape and paint a crisp line. You’ll likely need a solvent resistant tape. I would call interlux tech support and ask what product they recommend for that job.

I didn’t rig the engines but I do think they are very slightly toed in. The only thing I did after the initial rigging was move the engines up a bit and I may try going up even further.
I’m not sure what you mean by alignment but if you need any measurements let me know.

Right on, that's what I meant by alignment. I toed mine in about ¼'' to start off 🤙. I may need to lift mine up as well we will see!
