Coho-Killer But Doesn't Kill Chinook.....

coho killers in green/glo, or the green/glow/ red stripe (red racer?) have worked for me around sidney channel, coal island, and at constance bank since last summer. I have got results from leaders from 24 inches to 72 inches. No extra bend, but some bending to get it back to normal shape sometimes after an attack bent it up some.

The weird pink and blue coloured dots on the white background and the straight chrome have not produced any bites.

Fish them right out of the box, no modifications other than squish the barb. They have become my go to lure.

caught alot of little guys around vancouver with them...biggest was 8lbs, rest were shakers, for what ever reason they seem to attract the small ones, atleast for me...I use typical spoon leader lengths 5-6ft sometimes a bit longer...when I get bored I throw one on to atleast get a rod to move lol...I will be fishing them hard this winter

Be warned as someone here mentioned before - the original hooks are garbage. Change them out. A friend of mine warned me months ago, I didn't listen and may have lost the winning fish in the Sidney Derby because the hook broke during a good battle.

Have posted before on the same issue. It is not just the hook. The whole thing is flimsy. Have had large October Sooke Coho in the 17lb up range break off the hook at the eye, twist and turn the round welded stainless ring into an oval, bend the spoon 90 degrees and flake off a third of the paint leaving bare metal. Adding a better hook and swivel is a good idea. I suspect Nogs new needlefish spoon will be tougher when it comes on the market.
