Canucks 2023-2024 season

Canucks in my opinion cannot continue with this rope-a-dope approach as Silovs has been both outstanding and lucky. They need to get in the offensive zone, dictate the play and stay there.
The Oilers are pretty much a one line team and Skinner is absolutely killing them The beast Zadorov is in their heads and along with Lindholm have been outstanding acquisitions. Wonder if Soucy gets suspended for the McDavid head shot? It’s ironic the TSN has conveniently omitted the original slash.
Would have liked to see Podkolzin in the lineup to see what he brings. Overall a great result!

It looks like Van has three good Goalies. Demko is currently the best, however, he has a history of being subject to injury late in the season. Perhaps the issue is more with the management/coaching team in that maybe all he can handle is 15 to 20 games or so without getting hurt. Will Van. hold on to all three Goalies, or look to trade someone? If Demko can't handle a full season and playoffs on an ongoing basis he would sure make a great shared/backup Goalie. Hopefully he can get healthy and stay healthy for a full season and playoffs.
Silovs looks like he could have a long term role with the Canucks. The kid has no fear, looks like he is just having fun and does not seem to even understand he should be feeling some pressure, but that could come with time. He was not expected to be this good, but as that expectation develops, so will the pressure. A little early to say how good he will be in the long term.
To bad about DeSmith getting injured, but that is what happens when officials tolerate Goalies getting deliberately run. Without that injury, however, would Silovs have got the chance to prove himself?
Desmith will for sure want out next year. No hope for him here now after the magic that Silovs is pulling off.

$5,000 fine for Zadorov. I'm sure Soucy will get a game. But they should have a hearing for McDavid's two hand chop too that the media refuses to show.

Still too early to completely write Oilers off but the Canucks seem to be wanting it more than their opponent. The fight at the end of the game and the body language of the Oilers bench in the 3rd period had a lot to say IMO.

Im sorry but when you get all butt hurt and slash at the legs of a player after you lose the game... because of your immature attitude towards the other team deserves some sort of retaliation! Especially if you get away with the blatant high stick to quinns face! Id like to see mc crybaby go toe to toe and actually be a man for once and see how that works out for him against soucy or big z lol

Star player treatment

Well they made it exciting at least! But holy moly the pp is just brutal, a 4 min pp and one shot on net and barely any sustained zone time. Will hand it to the oil on the pk though they are really putting the pressure on, just stacking up that blue line. Looking forward to more hockey!

Interesting post-game interview from Tocchet. He's obviously pushing all bottons to get his main guys going. Let's see what game 5 brings.
