Comparing WD to mystery oil is like comparing a pink salmon to a chinook, it will do if thats all there is.

I use WD on the boat all the time, specifically on the downrigger arms to stop corrosion and stay looking new as well as other metal bits. If I get it on my hands or any gear it does not affect the fish-ability
