Campion 542 flush mount rod holders

I recently purchased a Campion 542. I am now in the process of personalizing the boat for my families needs. My kids are young and cannot hold their own rod to fight fish. I would like to installed flush mount rod holders on the rail so that my kids can stand at the side of the boat to fight halibut and reel up poles more independently.

Has anyone on here installed flush mount rod holders on the rail of a 542? I am hoping that I can fit a 15 degree flush mount perpendicular to rail on each side of the boat but am scared of cutting a hole and finding out that I cannot fit the rod holder.

Thanks for your help and advice,

Jon

Have you considered Burnewiin mounts? They have different rod holders for jigging rods/reels and mooching/downrigging setups.
I leave the rod in the rodholder for cranking up lings or halibut. It’s much easier to index the rod this way while cranking for most adults as well and I only take the rod out the last twenty feet or so for landing fish.

Those look really nice and versatile, but cost too much for me. I do like that it mounts vertical to take less space.

X2. They're the best boating accessory made. Just very spendy.
