The Scotch Whiskey thread got me thinking about whether there were other enthusiastic imbibers of Bourbon out there.
In the few years prior to some provincial peckerhead’s banning of American spirits I was really starting to enjoy some of the better bourbons on offer.
I was turned off many years ago by a colleague’s favourite bourbon, Woodford that I could barely choke down but I subsequently discovered several that were reasonably priced and pretty tasty to boot. Brothers Bond, Evan Williams, Angels Envy, Jefferson’s Reserve etc.. are just a few decent sips and worth pouring instead of a nice Scotch now and then.
I generally support Canadian businesses but they don’t make scotch or bourbon. Okanagan Spirits does a good job of crafting a couple of good bourbon style spirits but they come at a higher price point. Crown Royal made a Bourbon Mash that they had to rename to Blender’s Mash that made my cut as well.
Any other ideas/recommendations as the private liquor stores are pretty much running out of old stock of authentic bourbons?
