He quoted me more than twice what I was paying Alltow. $700 for a 8 km move?

Never use them now.

Trucking got really expensive in the last few years, actually thinking of buying a rig instead of paying through the nose for hauling my forms and equipment, materials, the only ones that are still on the cheap sides are dump trucks

Or a nice side-gig for a guy with the right truck and trailer. I haul a trailer full of kids bikes for school courses in greater Victoria - turns out its mostly retired guys that have the time, the truck and a bit of trailering experience.
