Lets see now-- propane for the BBQ....CHECK. Woodstove ready to light.....CHECK. 10 gals of gas for the gensets so the sat TV and internet keep operating. CHECK. More gas for the well pump and house lights...CHECK. Freezer good for three days without power....CHECK Two extra bottles of booze in case a tree cuts off road access to the liquor store...hummmm.. better make that FOUR BOTTLES CHECK!!!!!!!!

Out of all these days my auto pump decides to give up the ghost. 10 inches of water in the bilge makes for an eerie feeling when on board.
Luckily the other two manual pumps came on ok and 5-10 minutes later was back in business.

A guy up the street had a huge Gary Oak topple over the other night and the base of the trunk fell directly across the box of his 3 month old Dodge Pickup. The box is flattened and the frame of the truck was on the ground before the tree was cut away. Pretty much a parts truck now, from the cab forward.

Nice work FB, I love to get out and sea trail my own boat once and awhile. Most guys won't go with though. Always good to know what your boat can handle and how it will handle.

Interesting concept "see what your boat can handle" line got me a few years ago.
First boat Trophy 1805 115 merc, first month of ever owning a boat or I probably would've known better. 15-20 kn SE against flood tide at the Race Rocks. Can you say 6ft standing waves? The 115 could barely push the boat over the waves, green spilling all over the bow and windshield ...rather hairy situation.
Would I do it again to see what the boat can do? What if it CAN'T then what, too late eh?
Be safe and make safe decisions out there, keep yourself and others (read rescue workers) out of harms way.
