any suggestions on Pro and cons for each, Im taking a couple weeks off second week of August. Just wondering the distance to good fishing grounds, Fuel, moorage ect ... thanks

My choice would be Bamfield. It's a little more expensive to get there (especially with a large boat), but there are more options for moorage. Also, you can always find a sheltered place where to fish regardless of weather and wind conditions.

For the past few years, the second week in August will always find us in Ucluelet. Moorage is available at Island West or the Gov. docks (book ahead of time for island west) Gas is available down the harbour but don't wait to fill up in the morning as they don't open until after 8:00 am. You can fish just outside the harbour at Beg or Chrow if it is too rough outside or run along the surfline towards Long Beach if you don't want to go out to the banks. Last year at that time we did very well out on the 5 mile bank, and some days were nice enough to head out to the Big Bank. Personally I think Ucluelet is a great place for a fishing vacation!
