They are everywhere right now & the action is the hottest I have ever seen!

Backside of Edward King is better than Fleming right now. Stop at Chup point for a couple hrs. 90 feet of cable & green/white

Cheers! Good Luck!

Thanks for the report RB!! I'm heading up to Poett Nook later this week so that's great news. Do you know if the fish are prefering bait (anchovies) or hardware? I'm heading over from the mainland and there seems to be a shortage of large size anchovies. Do you think that makes a difference?

Thanks,

SF

Was there on the weekend. Saw fish taken on both.
I got mine on Anchovies; had picked up the small and large at Berry's. Both worked fine. About 4 hookups each morning, usually within an hour.
They also had small, med, & large Anchovies at the Seabeam store, in good supply.
The fish were shallow. Between 15~35 feet.

Fishin' anywhere anytime for anything

If i were to use lures what color of lures and what type ??

Thanks for all the info already

As one famous salmon fisherman once wrote."You can use any color you want as long as it's green".But chovie is your best bet.Lures? coyote, apex or anything that has it's own action.Pay attention to your leader length's so read the package instuction's .Good luck.

Large Coyote's on 52" leader behind an Okie or HotSpot etc. Chrome & Green slaying em better than anchovie!

Tough to fish 3 rods Boyz! You will have all the action you can handle if you troll the right depth/speed, watch your rigger cable and not the speedo

Cheers !!!

Just a note.
I appreciate the info you guys. I am hoping to cut my salmon newbie teeth on a semi protected but productive place like Bamfield. I am listening attentively.
We recently went to Renfrew on a charter and man am I hooked!

fished the wreck today- basically as fast as we could get lines down we got fish (hooked 2 real nice springs right on the surface) and limited in about 2 hrs on chinook from 18-30 and 6 coho from 7-12. 7 inch plugs were the ticket.35-45 feet deep.

Would you be able to tell me where "the wreck" is. I'm very familiar with the waters but haven't heard of that before.

thanks,

The wreck is an actual ship wreck. It can be found burned in on all GPS plotters. it is apox 14 miles out at 210 degrees.

Fishing in Uki was on fire this last week. Everyone was limiting on cohos and springs. The wreck, the shallows, south bank, the lighthouse were all producing offshore -- hoochies, spoons and plugs were all working. I prefered the 7" plugs (602 and 158) for faster trolling around 4 knots -- it kept the cohos off the hook more. Fish were in the high teens to low 30s with a few 40s making it to the docks.

Fishing was also happening closer to shore the last few days with the rocks just west of the inlet mouth to w. point producing up to 30 pounders on anchovies.

Home for a week and the back for a week next sunday

Tight lines.

Steve

I found Swale rock to be hot on Friday afternoon Aug 19.
Got two to finish my limit in about 20 min. (I didn't even get time to do a complete pass back and forth) 22 and 28 at 56 and 48 ft. Used chovie in green glow and another with no teaser just tandom hooks.

I was at 5 mi and didn't do very well at all but found a small rock out by 7 mi that was non stop action ever time I crossed it. Chart showed 160ft. Caught lots of coho and smaller spings all under 15lbs.The word on the dock is that the fish are comming in and don't need to go offshore.

Also the wall and whitlestone got me my other spring all in the low 20's and a coho at 15lbs.

Tried all depths down to 120 offshore but caught most of our fish between 45 and 60 ft. Even at dusk I got 2 springs down at 56 on the wall.

Great weather but only saw land when I was standing on it. FOG FOG FOG...

Stayed at Seabeam in bamfield 17th and 18th

Good Luck to ya!!!
