I picked up a flexfold crab trap today to try out and wondering if anyone has used the prawn traps with any sucsess,
I like the ease of storage about them, they seem well built but are a little lighter then the stackable 31" commercial I have been using
but before I throw down 650 bucks for 4 new traps I thought I would ask some opinions.
My marina is starting to clamp down on guys having crap sitting on the docks and not renewing moorages so I've been tying them up in the front WA of the boat
but dont really like that either, so much easier and tidyer if I can stow them under the cuddy, folded up in their bag they are only really about the size of a 14" hubcap

sound a lil spendy,, can you fresh water rinse them? dry em out, then store, just wondering how they would do after storing salt/wet... after a year are they still usable???

they are all 304 stainless including the hardware so they should stand up pretty well, netting is netting and pretty easy to replace or mend if needed

Never used the Prawn units-I like the Crab traps but don't be in too much of a hurry when folding them up you might end up with a mouthful of spring stainless I'm serious.

I have a couple of these traps, they fish very well. Besides the price I would recommend them. They are a little difficult to put back in the bag, but like anything after a few attempts not so bad.

are you using the crab or prawn traps, I was a little worried with the prawn traps that I might have to weight them down a little more, I did buy a crab one but not so worried about it moving around

I have a two Flex Fold crab traps and one of their prawn traps. I also have two stacking prawn traps that I bought from Nikka. While I would buy the Flex Fold crab traps again for storage space reasons, I would stick with the stacking prawn traps as they have consistently caught more prawns and store very efficiently.

Thanks Teja, kind of what I wanted to hear, the prawn traps do stack well, but a pain sitting on the deck, My next boat will definately have a hard top and I'll throw them up there.
I think I'll pick up 1 more flexfold crab trap and then get rid of the square traps I have now and maybe leave it like that. and just keep them upfront when not in use,
my boats a little low in the arse anyway so a little weight up front wont hurt
