Ambleside boat launch

Since I am a new boat owner is Ambleside launch still open and what is it like at a low tide. I have an older 15ft Whaler towed with a Bronco. If it is still open what would be the lowest tide that it would be useable. Tried doing web searches but not much info that I can find. Thanks

It's open but it has a few issues. There are a lot of people walking through while you are using the ramp, especially at this time of year. There's limited parking at the ramp (but you can park elsewhere like in the park). And the ramp is not much good when the tide is less than about 5 feet for a boat your size unless you want to put your truck in the water, which I don't recommend. I've actually launched my 20 footer there recently, but I needed about 8+feet. You need to consider the tide both going in and coming out of course.

There's a small float or the beach for leaving your boat.

Hope this helps.

Ambelside is a good launch have used it lots with my old lund still needed 5 +feet. Gotta watch out for all the yoyos walking around and getting in your way both getting in and out. Has fresh water hook up to flush motors wash trailer.

Used to bury my Burb in the water with a 14' Lund. If the Bronco is aged you can get in lower than 5', mind I had my tailpipe blowing bubbles on more than one occasion. Bright side is you'll have the ramp to yourself.

Another challenge about that launch is kayakers who get dressed while blocking the ramp. Repeat the mantra, share the resource, share the resource .....
