Entire B.C. school district to go into lockdown after vaccine protesters enter 3 schools

September 17, 2021
A school district in B.C.’s southern Interior says all schools in its zone will be in lockdown mode on Monday, after COVID-19 vaccine protesters entered three schools on Friday and served a “notice of liability.”

School District 83, which covers the North Okanagan and Shuswap regions, said protesters entered Ranchero Elementary, South Canoe Elementary and the Sullivan campus of Salmon Arm Secondary seeking to speak to the respective principals.

The encounters were preceded by others on Wednesday and Thursday, a district spokesperson told Global News.

On Wednesday, approximately 15 people showed up at the school district office wanting to speak to the superintendent, the spokesperson said. Talks with them lasted around two hours.

On Thursday, demonstrators returned during a pop-up vaccination clinic. Police were called and eventually dispersed them.

First they were protesting in front of our hospitals and now they are taking beds away from people that did the right thing.
Our nurses are not happy and the hospitals are filling up with the unvaccinated.

There must be an abundance of people lining up to work there. I couldn't afford to let unvaxxed people walk. I'll wait for public pressure to force them to get vaccinated before implementing mandatory vaccines. We do have quite a few hospital and care home jobs so I'm sure it won't take long before there isn't any work for the unvaxxed anyways.

in our little work world we knew of about 8 people in the company that were not vaccinated. apparently 5 of them have one dose now with 3 hold outs.

if 1 of the hold outs leaves it would be fairly devastating. the big wheel tho will keep on turning

Against the law to make employees get vaccinated, just so you know.
Oh I’m sure that’s why the team of lawyers put in

Employees who elect not to be vaccinated, and for whom a reasonable accommodation has not been approved, will be required to undergo mandatory COVID-19 rapid testing, with Health Canada approved rapid antigen testing, twice weekly. The cost of antigen testing will be borne by the Employees electing not to be vaccinated.
