Hi all,
Myself and 3 buddies were planning to go up to Hesquiat from Tofino this week to camp for a few days, but the marine forecast is calling for 30 to 40 knot NW winds. I'm looking for some advice and have a few questions from anyone experienced in that area. Even if the advice is to keep my azz at home I appreciate it. Boat is a 23ft Glasply cuddy hardtop and will be towing a 12 ft inflatable.
1. Would it be calm enough to take the inside around Flores then wait near Hot Springs Cove area till the winds calm before taking the last 15 km treck to Hesquiat harbour?
2. Any recommendations on where to anchor in Hesquiat harbour for a couple of days?
3. Would I need to setup a double anchor system like the Bahamian due to tide currents?
My apologies if my questions are ignorant or stupid. I'm not a very sesoned boater and don't know the area. I just want to know what to expect and be safe.
Thanks in advance.
