Walker/Cope did a sweet 25' with a unique transducer system.

I bet that thing works really good, however I wouldn't want that on the keel either or just not at the lowest point. In case of impact or it resting on somthing. Maybe they don't make a 20 or 30 degree version?..don't know. Most of the fancy new thru hulls use 2 now if not going with a center mount.

Initial thoughts are usually "who wants something hanging below the hull surface", but once realizing that shafts, struts, water pick ups, legs etc. are already doing it, probably not such a big deal.

In your experience, is that reverse tear drop shape common for these applications?

Yes teardrop is pretty standard. Rhat one is obviously wider but it's well done for sure. I'm sure it's going to work with unreal results. I haven't gone to dealer training for funruno since before the covid mess so I'm out of touch on a several product lines. Haven't been doing much on that for a while now. However I will say that I'm a huge furuno fan. Love their stuff.

But like I said briefly last post, most of these new super fancy thruhulls In order to have an offset transducer that beams out at let's say 20 degrees, these new systems want 2. One for portside and one for starboard. They link with a y cable. Doubles the cost. I could look it up on furuno. To see what their requirement is in their new setup

There is so many products on the market right now and it changes so fast its really tough to keep up
