Headed over towards Secretary this morning, fishing in the 400' -500' zone. Bait on one side and a croc squirt on the other. Got first hit at about 10am, an 8lb chum at 130' on the rigger followed shortly after by a 5lb wild Coho also same depth - both on the anchovy side.
Got one more nice Coho on bait but self-released just shy of the net. Switched over to bait on both sides, but after that nothing but shakers. Trolled our way back in to Cheanuh and pulled up the gear at Creke and called it a day.
Back at the (busy) ramp around 1-ish where we lined up to load as there were a couple of folks having a hard time loading and backing up etc., but we weren't in a real rush so just waited it out. Everyone has to learn how to launch etc so nobody gave them a hard time and they eventually got loaded and away. Wished my Chum was a Coho, but oh well, was luckier than most guys we talked to that just got shakers. Nice and sunny today too.

Surprisingly there are still fresh Chinooks in the Strait! First thought this would be a very large winter spring already but when I cut it up it turned out to be a ripe male. Still very silver and red meat. Strange! This has to be one of my latest springs ever; Oct 16! 74cm Wow!

First boat out of Prestige this morning, well after daybreak. What a difference a couple of weeks makes. Headed over towards Otter pt. with a couple of other boats. Saw a couple of decent fish caught on other boats. Ourselves only got 4 wild coho, a couple lost and a lot of shakers. Fished a flasher for a change with a Mint Tulip squirt and at 75' it caught all the better fish. Stayed pretty close in as the no fishing boundary is pretty close there. Rain stayed off for most of the morning. Someone left there Ford truck and trailer parked on the turn around at the ramp. WWT?

Noticed one boat doing pretty good on cod jigging off that little hump off the trailer park.
