2025 Secret Cove, Pender Harbour and Texada Reports

Did anyone get a chinook today? After a dozen or so wild coho at Epsom, spanning 30' to 170' on the downrigger, I gave up and went to Pirate. A quick double-header of hatchery and I was done. But no springs. Not that I'm complaining - coho go in the freezer for winter dinners while springs go to friends or end up in the smoker.

Got up to epsom last night around 730, flat calm , gorgeous sunset . 5 wilds 3 hatch , 4 big springs in the next two hours , all on tomics in diff sizes . Went and anchored up for the night . Back out this morning with 5 dozen liveys anchored on our spot in some chop . We’re out of herring within 2.5 hours as the coho bite was off the charts , with some large chinook mixed in , landed some , lost some due to being extremely hot fighters and our light live bait leaders . Finished fishing tomic plugs till 11 and ended up with our 4 keeper springs , handful more hatch coho and a few releases on some really nice fish 85cm - 88cm . SLOPPY run home taking it on the beam 90 percent of the run

Sounds like a blast!

Gotta give props to Adanac. The white hoochie that has been so good in past years isn't getting any love from the springs. But put a Tomic plug on one of the rods this evening (based on his opening day report) and was rewarded with 2 x 75cm. Now I need more - hope they have them at Trail Bay Sports or Mercers ...

what size Tomic were you using?

2 nights and 2 ivory springs. Anyone else getting into the ivories? One @ 140ft and the other in about 90ft on the flood, both off epsom with an irish cream skinny g.

The white/semi transparent hoochies are still doing well for me with coho in the shallows.

Crazy fun season thus far!

Plugs on the rack at Source for Sports in Sechelt in 4” and 5” sizes.

Closed the dance card this morning by 8am. 2 slots sized Chinook on. No Bananas Skinny g and 4” white Tomic plugs above a dummy flasher seemed to bring the Nooks. Lots of coho still at Epson. 12 wild marked released, 4 marked came home with us. Great morning.
