Saw that too! Very coolGreat humpback whale show this afternoon at Entrance while bubble feeding. Super fun to watch
No lucky for me, but the whales seem to have been tipped off by this post as they too put in an appearance. Thanks again for the spot.Fish the the trough off Entrance Island betwee Gabriola and the two reefs just to the north in 220-240 feet of water scraping the bottom for bigger springs, we got our first light bite limits off 6 inch 500 plugs, fishing up high will yield coho, pinks and sockeye. We tried for sox this morning after getting a limit of springs but only managed to find pinks and wild coho, but did talk to guys at the dock who were into a few at first light. Steady stream of fish going by at 80 -100 feet all morning. There will be boats out there so just get in line and follow the herd. I find the flood/slack tide best but it was an ebb today and still pretty consistent.View attachment 119763
Very true that’s why they’re so hard to find until they stop at the currently closed mouth of the Fraser and hold for a bitsockeye move fast it only takes them 7 days to get from Port Hardy to Fraser river
Especially after they swim through Seymour Narrows...sockeye move fast it only takes them 7 days to get from Port Hardy to Fraser river
Saw a notice it's open on 22
Guess it didn’t slow down?Wow did normal service resume plus some at Entrance yesterday evening. In 3 hours we got about 20 mature fish to the boat by the time we bonked our 3 chinook and 6 clipped coho. Most success for us from 110 to 140 feet. Included in there were 2 overs. Seemed like every time I had a minute to pick my head up and look around someone around us was playing a fish. Hooting and hollering from other boats was great to hear.
Just another opening where you have basically zero chance of hooking one.Saw a notice it's open on 22
