What did you get your springs on?Had a productive beauty evening at Entrance. Got our 3 keeper springs at 170' biggest was a fat 76". Also released an over and kept one hatch coho. Somehow, despite being surrounded by seals none of them got ahold of our fish, though I did horse the over in and have no idea how it didn't end up being a rock sausage sandwich.
Back home before sunset.
White hoochie, Double black flasher. One of them was full of 5" herring, so maybe bigger spoons than we were using on the other side would have been better. What did you get your springs on?
Great info thanks. Heading back out tomorrow and Saturday.White hoochie, Double black flasher. One of them was full of 5" herring, so maybe bigger spoons than we were using on the other side would have been better.
As flywheel said, ours were on the same bait ball which we kept circling back to, though the over was a bit away from that. Other bait balls though:
I haven’t since before the commercial guys, but I see them in the water every time I’m out. Can’t comment on how they’re doing, thoughAnyone tossed a prawn trap lately? Starting to come back post commies?
Picked up a 100ish yesterday inside of Valdez in one pull. Tried a new square trap and it was empty, not sure if it needs weight or just doesn't work. Trap above it had lots.Anyone tossed a prawn trap lately? Starting to come back post commies?
Wicked, that’s a good pull. Thanks for the report.Picked up a 100ish yesterday inside of Valdez in one pull. Tried a new square trap and it was empty, not sure if it needs weight or just doesn't work. Trap above it had lots.
Nice sized bait, looks like dummy flasher and tomic time.Fished around the grande tonight with a good buddy. I took home a nice clipped coho from 171’ on a white hootchie. Buddy took home a 72cm white spring, 151’ on a beat up old cop car skinny g. Big herring in the spring. Lots of other smaller fish released on same gear.
