I'm hoping to go chum fishing at Deepwater or Plumper in the next couple of days. Can someone give me a recent report ?

It’s been generally pretty good. However the seines fish the entire straights starting tomorrow. You may wish to wait a few days past their closure.

Shout out to the organizing group for the Browns Bay chum derby. Another nice event. Lots of chums caught this year but man they were smaller. Derby winner 12 pounds 8 ounces. Every year we go we get at least 1 decent day of fishing in and enjoy the live bands at night along with a few cold ones. Chums are fun to fish and the event is always chill. Thanks folks for keeping the tradition alive (in spite of DFO making planning really hard.)
