we fished where you did this morning, got a good 45mins in before the wife turned green and had to pound my way back inside again!Riggers at 181 and 201, 320-350 ft of water.
We're heading up on Saturday for a week. Never fished this late but I know we'll have a great time. Last year we saw our first Sunfish just west of Kains, right beside the boat...an awesome sight...then 2 minutes later a Right Whale and her calf 50M from the boat. It also ended up being our best bottom day of the trip. Definitely a "unicorn" day.
I have had great trips to WH all the way until the rains set in in sept. Good LuckWe're heading up on Saturday for a week. Never fished this late but I know we'll have a great time. Wow, sounds like you put some miles on… those flat water days are the dream! We got all our springs out near the SW corner of the Lippy Pt RCA. Smashed lings about 3 nm north of Solander. Halibut took more work, best spot for us was about 2 nm SW of San Josef Bay. The luxury of super smooth water conditions, going way further afield than normally practical.
Wolf eels are the devilWrapped up an amazing fishing season in WH with some tuna fishing and a wolf eel!
Two days of tuna fishing we got 90 tuna in total! Pushed the boats fuel capacity to the limit at 57 miles from the lighthouse! Had to dip into the fuel reserves to make it home one of the trips! At one point we had fish on all 8 pieces of gear we had in the water!
Finally on the last day of halibut fishing we hooked this wolf eel!
