Hwy 4 is closed from 9am till 5 pm Monday to Friday with a 2 hour opening from 11:30-1:30
Slight mod, for planning purposes:
Starting July 17, there will be two closures each weekday. 9am to 11:30am, and 1:30pm to 5pm. Westbound opening from 11:30 to 12:30pm. Eastbound opening from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.

I use the Navionics Boating App on my phone with the $20/year Sonarchart subscription. Very detailed and useful.
Have the same. Maybe not using it right? I see the notes on the map. Ideal situation would be to have raster level substrate. Doesn't exist now (?) but maybe in 5-10 years with the way things are going?

i will be using the re-route, remember if you are going to bam, take flora !!!

Only a week before our annual trip to Bamfield first time with my own 22’ aluminum boat, was wondering with all the improvements done on the gravel road so far between PA and Bamfiekd, would it be advisable to trailer the boat or come through the inlet? The issue is I’ll arrive to PA just before noon and I’m concern about the wind. I really appreciate any feedback.

Would do the inlet.

I've done it in my 20 foot grady when it's blowing. You should be ok in the 22 foot boat. Won't be fun until you get a couple miles past nahmint.

Just came in on the road yesterday. Not as nice as a few weeks ago, don’t think they’re actively grading right now. Lots of washboard on every hill. Take the inlet.

Thank you all for the feedback. I think I’ll take the inlet.

Having driven it last Friday I would also vote for running out the inlet; with it having been so dry it is VERY dusty and as mentioned earlier there are some pretty bad washboard spots.
